PURPOSE OF SERVICE
Changing work, changing spaces
Telecom asked NCA Engineering to transform 100,000 m² of traditional offices into a space capable of hosting double the number of people, thus moving from an occupancy of 2,500 people to one of 5,000, with a significant saving on the cost of real estate.
The project
We designed one of the first open space offices in Italy, respecting the regulations regarding safety of working environments and evacuation in case of fire and adapting all the systems and air conditioning. Subsequently, Telecom prepared guidelines for the regeneration of other spaces based on this model.
The architect Michele De Lucchi also participated in the project, who was entrusted with the task of making the work environments more human-friendly. This model has evolved further today, adapting to the logic of smart working: less space for the same number of people, but who work in shifts sharing workstations.
